Karel Stránský joined Colliers International in 1996 as a Senior Property Consultant in industrial, land and warehouse leasing and sales. In 2005, he was promoted to the position of Associate Director, whilst remaining the Head of the Industrial Department, in the Czech Republic.
Karel was involved in a number of industrial leasing deals in the Czech market including: Lindab (27,000 sq m), Tech Data Corp. (36,400 sq m), Bridgestone (55,000 sq m), Electro World (29,000 sq m), Honeywell (27,000 sq m) and Carrefour (25,000 sq m).
He also represented sellers and buyers in industrial land acquisitions including: Europa Fund (480,000 sq m), Amadeus (50,000 sq m) and Tivall (42,000 sq m).

Professional Background


Prior to joining Colliers International, Karel worked as a planning and ecology consultant to local, regional and national authorities in the Czech Republic. Afterwards, he worked as the Deputy-Chief Architect in Brno, where he managed a team of specialists in the urban redevelopment of the city center. He has also worked for BOVIS and P&O as the Marketing Manager for the Czech Technology Park in Brno. His responsibilities included the marketing and leasing of office / manufacturing space.

Mr. Stránský studied at Masaryk University in Brno, where he graduated in Social Geography. He continued with his studies at the Sheffield Business School in Prague, where he received an MBA. During the first stages of his professional career, he visited the USA, Great Britain, Japan and Holland, where he gained further experience related to the building and selling of commercial properties.
