Previous career in transport sector: 1990-1991: Head of the Department of Economy of Ministry transport of Lithuania; 1991-2000 Vice Minister for the Transport and Communications of Lithuania, responsible for transport policy development and foreign relations, 2001-2002: Consultant to the President of Lithuania for transport policy.
Participant of international research studies in the EC DG TREN Framework (INTERMODA, NAS-ITIP, RAILSERV, BESTUFS II, MOTOS) and INTERREG IIIB ( NeLoC,InloC Intrasea ,Baltic Gateway, East-West ) frames.
Author over 30 sc. articles on transport policy and economy, transport infrastructure development strategy, Pan-European transport corridors, TINA and TEN-T network development.
